This page compares the Amerisleep AS6 Black Series and Stearns & Foster Lux Estate using each brand’s official product pages, trial terms, and warranty documents. We did not sleep on these two models for this article and did not measure firmness, surface temperature, motion transfer, or edge support. Sleep-position advice follows the feel each brand advertises; prices and promotions change, so the cart total is the one that counts.

Prices by size: the AS6 costs less at Queen today

The AS6 selector lists a regular price and a sale price. The current offer banner advertises $1,000 off and displays promo code AS500. The Lux Estate selector lists a direct price for its Medium selection. These are brand-site prices before tax; check the live cart total before ordering.

At Queen, the AS6 promotion is the clear price advantage. The Lux Estate costs more, but the difference is not just a fabric cover: the models use different support systems and purchasing services. Consider your total after any foundation, adjustable base, delivery option, or retailer-specific offer. Stearns & Foster advertises a free flat foundation up to $315 with qualifying mattress purchases; Amerisleep sells its foundation separately.

The size overlap also matters. The AS6 selector includes Twin, Twin XL, and Full; the Stearns & Foster selector lists Twin Long rather than Twin XL and does not list Twin or Full. The Lux Estate selector offers Split California King, while the AS6 one does not. Feel and construction: selectable firmness versus a premium coil bed

The current Lux Estate selection is labelled Medium; its product gallery identifies the photographed Queen as a tight-top profile. The maker says the collection has 15% more specialty materials than its Estate range. Its collection includes multiple feels and top styles, so a Firm Euro Pillow Top sold by a retailer is not automatically the same configuration as the direct-site Medium selection.

For side sleeping, I would start with AS6 Plush Soft or Luxury Firm if you want to compare pressure-relieving feel choices; for a back sleeper who prefers more pushback, I would start at Luxury Firm or Firm. Those are recommendations based on the options Amerisleep lists—not claims that I measured pressure relief on either mattress. Both companies promote cooling features. Amerisleep highlights its CryoCool cover, TitanAir layer, and ArcticWave bands; Stearns & Foster describes its cover as cool-to-the-touch and points to ventilation in the coil system. Those are manufacturer claims and design descriptions. If you are buying specifically to address overheating, use the in-home trial rather than treating marketing language as a temperature test.

Choose the AS6 if you want the foam-and-coil design with selectable firmness. Choose the Lux Estate if its IntelliCoil system and premium materials are central to what you want; confirm the top style before buying if you specifically want a pillow top. Neither product page gives enough comparable measured data to declare one cooler, quieter, or better at motion isolation.

Trial, delivery, and the cost if you change your mind

Trial promises only apply to qualifying purchases. Read the row that matches where you plan to order—not just the headline on a mattress page.

Amerisleep says you can try the AS6 for 100 nights and gives you the first 30 nights before a return request. Its page advertises free returns and says customer support will arrange a full refund if you decide it is not right after that initial period. The deal is simple if you order from Amerisleep: the listed return cost is $0.

Stearns & Foster’s direct-site offer gives you 90 days from purchase, but you must sleep on the mattress for at least 30 nights first. Its offer terms say a $175 return-shipping fee may apply, and the offer is not valid at third-party retail stores or for repeat purchases. That means you should not assume the direct brand trial applies if you buy a Lux Estate from a local showroom, department store, or other online retailer.

Stearns & Foster advertises white-glove in-home delivery and says a new online order is made to order, with arrival generally in two to three weeks. Amerisleep lists free shipping and a 1–7 business-day ship window for the AS6. Shipping time is not the same as time to your door, so use the delivery estimate shown for your ZIP code at checkout.

Warranty clauses worth checking before you set up the bed

Both brands advertise long coverage, but the year count is not the whole warranty. The AS6 is covered for 20 years: Amerisleep says the first 10 years include replacement for defects such as sagging greater than 1.5 inches, while the second 10 years are prorated. Stearns & Foster lists a 10-year limited warranty for mattresses; its warranty page says the law tag determines the exact warranty code and any deductible.

• Amerisleep support: the AS6 product page says to use a solid surface or slats at least 3 inches wide and less than 4 inches apart on a platform frame. It also lists adjustable bases as compatible. Follow the model’s current setup instructions.
• Stearns & Foster support: its warranty requires continuous support. For Queen or King frames, the current warranty calls for a rigid bridge bar with at least five support legs, or five equally spaced hardwood cross-slats with a center support; slats must be at least 3 inches wide and no more than 4 inches apart.
• Stearns & Foster claim costs: the warranty says the buyer is responsible for applicable transportation fees and inspection costs. It does not cover ordinary settling below the threshold: less than 1½ inches for quilted or tufted tops, or less than ¾ inch for flat, unquilted tops.
• Amerisleep coverage phases: do not read “20 years” as 20 years of identical coverage. The final decade is prorated, so check the warranty document for the formula and claim requirements before buying.

A warranty covers qualifying product defects, not a comfort exchange. For either model, keep the receipt, law tag, and product in a clean condition, and confirm your foundation meets the exact requirements. The Stearns & Foster policy also says its warranty is for new products bought from authorized retailers and directs in-store purchasers to their retailer for help.

Who should buy the AS6—and who should not?

Choose Amerisleep AS6 Black Series if:

• You want a firm feel choice rather than being locked into one configuration.
• You would use the longer direct-buy trial and prefer the brand’s advertised free return process.
• You want the current lower Queen price and are comfortable buying direct online.
• You need a Twin or Full; those sizes appear in the AS6 selector but not in the Lux Estate selector we checked.

Do not buy the AS6 if: you specifically want a traditional pillow-top feel, a local showroom purchase, or a size that the AS6’s current selector does not list. The current AS6 sale price may also change before you order.
