What Is Foam Density?
Foam density is measured in pounds per cubic foot (PCF or lb/ft³). It tells you how much material is packed into a given volume of foam — essentially, how "solid" the foam is. Higher density = more material = heavier, more durable foam.
A 4 lb/ft³ foam block that is 12" x 12" x 12" weighs 4 pounds. A 2 lb/ft³ block of the same size weighs only 2 pounds. The heavier one contains twice as much foam material — and will typically last 2–3x longer.
