Based on that advertised medium rating, here is how I would steer it:
- Back sleepers are the safest bet. A medium with a coil base and a lumbar wire through the middle is the classic setup for keeping the lower back supported without a hard ridge under the hips.
- Side sleepers should find the 1 inch of memory foam enough for a shoulder at this firmness, provided you are not a heavy side sleeper who sinks deep. If you need a soft, plush cradle, this is not that mattress — buy the feel, not the category.
- Stomach sleepers get a surface that will not let the hips drop badly, which is what a stomach sleeper needs most.
- Kids and guest use are the stated target too: Saatva lists it as ideal for kids, teens and overnight guests, which is exactly what a wall bed in a studio or office usually is.
